Canadian government proposes bill to restaure the Fisheries Act

Great news today coming from Minister Dominic LeBlanc with a bill aiming to restore and improve the pre-1992 Fisheries Act. In addition to considering all fish species and their habitat, the revised Fisheries Act will integrate indigenous traditional knowledge in management decisions, protect diversity and productivity through the creation of marine protected areas, and protect the integrity of the inshore fisheries sector.
