We are on our way back from the "International symposium on the drivers of dynamics of small pelagic fish resources".
For a week, we were immersed in the realm of forage fish, including sardine, anchovy, herring, capelin, mackerel, and other species that play the critical role of transferring the energy from plankton to large vertebrate predators in marine ecosystems.
