New paper on cod recruitment!

Our new paper, led by Fred Tulk, titled "Spatial synchronicity in recruitment of Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) stocks off Newfoundland and Labrador and the Flemish Cap", was published in the last issue of Fisheries Research.

In this work, we explored the co-variance in year-class strength among Atlantic cod stocks distributed around Newfoundland, including the Flemish Cap. We find areas of strong co-variance that suggest mixing between stocks or substructure within certain management units. Further research is needed to assess whether current research surveys and managements units effectively assess adjacent stocks.
