News from Satellite Tagging Survey 2015

We are back from our 2015 satellite tagging survey of Atlantic halibut in the Gulf of St. Lawrence!

The trip was very successful: 15 large adult fish were tagged in the central sector of the Northern Gulf of St. Lawrence and 15 out of the 20 tags deployed last year were recovered using a CLS America goniometer (13 tags) or through the commercial fishery (2 tags, see previous posts). These recoveries will yield high resolution data that will allow us to determine with precision seasonal migrations and habitat use of juvenile halibut within the Gulf. Stay tuned for hearing about the results!
